If you’re planning on moving to Las Vegas, you will have some great times ahead. Las Vegas is one of America’s fastest growing cities, and it isn’t just a great place to play, it’s a great place to live and a great place to retire.
Las Vegas offers its share of friendly suburban neighborhoods and hip downtown historic areas, along with close-to-the-action living spaces that give it a diverse, international flair and uniqueness.
Las Vegas also has some of the top world-class restaurants. If you are a foodie, you are going to the right place as Las Vegas has become a mecca for celebrity chefs. There's a restaurant bearing one's name in nearly every major hotel.
Outside the Strip and downtown areas, Las Vegas is a sprawling suburban region. It’s about a 30-minute drive from one end of the city to the other. If you like the suburban life, Henderson and Summerlin are two master planned communities.

Real estate is still affordable, the climate is ideal and the ability to find a great deal on food is very easy. If you couple the low cost of living and lack of a state tax, a person on a fixed income could very well find happiness in Las Vegas after retirement.
The Las Vegas sports scene is quite simply massive and the city is home to many major spectator sports, such as the, Vegas Golden Knights, (a NHL Ice Hockey Team), the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces (Women’s Basketball), The Las Vegas Aviators (Minor League Baseball Team), and the Las Vegas Raiders (NFL Team) and motor racing. Boxing and UFC are also big hits on the Strip.
There are also some 70 golf courses in Las Vegas, along with a couple of dozen major resorts with golf course affiliations.

When you consider job offers before moving to Las Vegas, take the low cost of living into account. While the average wages in Las Vegas tend to be lower than in some other areas of the country, you’ll also have a lot of that money still in your pocket after you’ve paid your bills.
The good news is that Las Vegas enjoys more than 310 days of sunshine each year. East coasters and people from hot and humid climates appreciate lack of snow and humidity. And we only get about 4” of rain each year.
Winters are generally short and mild. Hot weather can last from June to September. A Las Vegas winter is more like Spring, because December through February the temperature is usually 50 and 60 degrees.
Scattered throughout the Las Vegas Valley are various master planned communities for those who cherish the rich suburban lifestyle. These areas are distinguished by the tremendous number of amenities and conveniences they offer local residents.
Because of their sheer size, master planned communities can incorporate extensive recreational amenities like lakes, golf courses, expansive parks with bike paths, and jogging trails.
The two best suburban areas are in Summerlin and Henderson. Awesome place to raise a family with low crime and great schools.
The Las Vegas food scene is impressive and it is as good as in any big city. That includes LA, NYC and San Francisco. And the thing about food in Las Vegas is that it’s good. Really good. And it’s just as easy to go big as it is to stay humble without ever leaving unhappy. Vegas is its own world of food superiority. And you will love it.
